Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Classic Nintendo Console Theme

Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month with a nostalgic twist that's sure to delight fans. Starting May 1st, 2025, Niantic is bringing back the magic of classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s into the game. It's a thrilling event that pays homage to the rich history of Nintendo, and it's kicking off with a special event that lasts the entire month.

The update is a fantastic throwback to Nintendo's roots. Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has introduced various fun decor options, including Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For this milestone, the game introduces the Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin, a nod to Nintendo's pre-video game era when they were renowned for their playing cards. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo's vintage decks, adding a touch of nostalgia.

From May 1st to May 31st, 2025, players can engage in Event Challenge missions to earn exciting rewards. Completing these missions will grant you random rewards such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals. Additionally, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear during the event. Destroying these mushrooms will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other items. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are particularly effective at smashing these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

May is the month of big blooms in Pikmin Bloom. Planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around specific flowers can lead to the growth of carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses. Furthermore, a nectar update means that fruit from mushrooms harvested in May will provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for these special blooms.
