The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct Now Has a Time as Well as a Date

The Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Direct is scheduled for 6 AM PT on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 (9 AM ET, 2 PM UK time). This Direct promises a closer look at the Switch 2, following its initial reveal last month. The reveal showcased the console's design, hinted at Mario Kart 9, and teased a potential "mouse" mode for the new Joy-Con controllers.

However, many questions remain unanswered. These include the functionality of the mysterious new Joy-Con button, the console's processing power, and the intended use of its new ports.

The Direct is expected to unveil the full Switch 2 launch lineup, a release date (predicted between June and September 2025), and hopefully, the console's price (analysts predict $400).

The potential Switch 2 game library is gradually taking shape. Rumors point to a substantial list of third-party titles. Firaxis, the developer of Civilization 7, expressed intrigue about the Joy-Con mouse mode in an IGN interview. Nacon, a publisher of titles like Greedfall 2, Test Drive Unlimited, and RoboCop: Rogue City, confirmed it has Switch 2 games ready for release. Hollow Knight: Silksong is also rumored for the platform, and EA recently suggested Madden, FIFA, and The Sims would be suitable for the Switch 2.
