Looking to upgrade the storage capacity of your Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, or ASUS ROG Ally? Amazon is currently offering the high-performance 512GB Samsung Pro Plus Micro SDXC card for just $29.99, and it comes with a compact USB card reader. Samsung is one of the most highly recommended memory card brands, and the Pro Plus model outperforms most Micro SDXC cards, especially at this price point.

The Samsung Pro Plus is compatible with virtually any device that accepts the Micro SDXC card standard, including the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and the ASUS ROG Ally. With a speed rating of U3 / A2 / V30, this card offers up to 180MB/s sustained read speeds and 130MB/s sustained write speeds. It's an excellent choice for devices requiring fast, high-capacity transfers, such as 4K DSLRs, action cameras, or gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally. The included USB card reader simplifies file transfers to your PC, even without a data transfer cable.
This card is also perfect for the Nintendo Switch. The original Switch and Switch OLED models come with a mere 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, respectively, part of which is reserved for the operating system. To put that into perspective, games like "Tears of the Kingdom" and "Breath of the Wild" take up 16GB and 13.5GB, respectively. If purchased digitally, these two games alone would fill up the internal storage of the original Switch. With only one memory card expansion slot available, opting for the largest card you can afford is wise, though most users won't need more than 512GB of additional storage.
Unfortunately, this card will not be compatible with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which requires the newer Micro SD Express cards to leverage the console's higher speed capabilities. If you're specifically looking for a memory card for the Switch 2, MicroSD Express cards are available, albeit from a limited selection of brands and at a higher cost than standard Micro SD cards. While traditional Micro SD cards cap at 104 MB/s using the UHS-I interface, MicroSD Express cards can reach speeds of up to 985 MB/s using PCIe and NVMe technology.
