ARK Spinoff Surpasses Milestone with Free-to-Play Success

ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition's Impressive Debut: 3 Million Downloads in Three Weeks

ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition, the free-to-play mobile spin-off of the popular ARK: Survival Evolved franchise, has achieved a remarkable feat, surpassing three million downloads within its first three weeks of release (December 18th, 2024). This success significantly outpaces the initial launch of ARK: Survival Evolved's mobile port, demonstrating a substantial increase in player engagement.

Despite receiving mixed reviews upon launch, the game's popularity continues to climb on both iOS and Android platforms. Currently, it holds a respectable position in the adventure game charts, ranking 24th on iOS and 9th among top-grossing adventure games on Android. While user ratings are currently 3.9/5 on the App Store (412 ratings) and 3.6/5 on the Google Play Store (over 52.5K ratings), the strong download numbers indicate significant player interest.

Developer Grove Street Games, responsible for the successful Nintendo Switch port of ARK: Survival Evolved in 2022, is actively working on expanding the mobile game's content. Future updates will introduce new maps, including Ragnarok, Extinction, Genesis Part 1, and Genesis Part 2, further enriching the dinosaur-filled world.

The game's availability will also expand beyond the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. A release on the Epic Games Store is planned for 2025, offering players greater platform choice. This successful launch follows Studio Wildcard's recent roadmap update for ARK: Survival Ascended, and further highlights the ongoing strength of the ARK franchise. The future of the franchise remains promising, though the anticipated release of ARK 2 remains pending.
