Avatar: New Era Unveiled in "Seven Havens"

Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil a new chapter in the Avatar universe: Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting announcement coincides with the franchise's 20th anniversary, a celebration masterminded by original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Avatar: Seven Havens, a 26-episode 2D animated series, introduces a fresh Avatar—a young Earthbender—following the legacy of Avatar Korra. The story unfolds in a world ravaged by catastrophe, where the new Avatar's destiny is tragically twisted. Instead of a savior, she's branded as humanity's destroyer, forcing her and her estranged twin to confront perilous threats from both the human and spirit realms. Their quest? To unravel their enigmatic past and safeguard the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.

In a joint statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their astonishment at the enduring legacy of their creation, highlighting the new series' blend of fantasy, intrigue, and a captivating new ensemble of characters.

The series will be structured into two 13-episode seasons, designated Book 1 and Book 2. DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating Seven Havens alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Casting details remain undisclosed.

This marks the inaugural mainline television series from Avatar Studios, who are concurrently developing a feature-length animated film centered on Aang, slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, showcasing an older Aang embarking on a fresh adventure.

The 20th anniversary festivities extend beyond Seven Havens, encompassing a diverse range of merchandise, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a Roblox game.
