After months of speculation and numerous leaks, it seems Bethesda is finally set to officially announce their highly anticipated remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The announcement is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 AM EST and will be livestreamed on both YouTube and Twitch.
In a recent tweet, the official Bethesda account teased the reveal, posting an image with a prominent "IV" in the center—a clear nod to the original game. The background features artwork reminiscent of Oblivion’s iconic aesthetic, further fueling the anticipation.
Speculation surrounding a remake has been swirling for years, with early whispers surfacing as far back as 2020. During the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, a leaked Bethesda release schedule mentioned a remaster for fiscal year 2022. However, given the age of the document and the missed deadline, it seemed plausible that the project had been shelved. Fast forward to earlier this year, when additional leaks surfaced, suggesting the project had evolved into a full-fledged remake in collaboration with support studio Virtuos. Last week, further confirmation came from Virtuos’ own website, showcasing images of the remake in action.
According to these leaks, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake will launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, featuring a Deluxe Edition that includes horse armor among other enhancements.
Stay tuned tomorrow to see if all these rumors hold true—and to learn even more about this highly anticipated title.
