March events are in full swing in *Pokemon GO*, and we're excited to celebrate the changing seasons with a special event focused on bug-type Pokemon. The Bug Out event promises a fantastic opportunity to catch these fascinating critters, along with some great bonuses and new avatar items.
The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* **kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs until 8 PM local time on March 30.** That gives you five full days to capture all those bug-type Pokemon that might make Misty a bit uneasy. It's also a prime time for Shiny hunting, as nearly every featured Pokemon has a Shiny variant in *Pokemon GO*.
According to the official page, you'll see more of these bug-type Pokemon in the wild during the Bug Out event:
Two new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. Evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch with 50 Sizzlipede Candy.
Get ready for plenty of raids during the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out event. Here's what you can expect to encounter at raid gyms. Pokemon marked with an asterisk (*) have a Shiny variant:
Trainers will enjoy these bonuses throughout the Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO*:
Spinning PokeStops during the event will yield event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can reward players with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon.
Timed Research will offer rewards including a Lure Module and encounters with the event's Pokemon. The Paid Timed Research comes with a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with the event's Pokemon. Make sure to complete both types of research and claim your rewards before the event ends.
Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop:
The Pokemon GO Bug Out event will feature Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
