Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change
Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode. A recent update reverses a controversial alteration to zombie spawn delays, restoring them to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. This decision follows significant player feedback indicating the previous change negatively impacted gameplay and challenge completion.
The January 3rd update, introducing Directed Mode to the Citadelle des Morts map, also included the now-reverted spawn delay increase. This change hampered kill farming and camo challenge progression, prompting community backlash and concerns about potential further restrictions on XP and rewards. Treyarch acknowledged these concerns and swiftly acted to rectify the situation.
The January 9th patch notes confirm the reversal of the spawn delay modification. In addition to this key change, the update includes several bug fixes for Citadelle des Morts' Directed Mode, resolving issues with quest progression and visual glitches. Fixes were also implemented for crashes associated with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud.
Furthermore, the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received substantial buffs. Activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with Big Game Augment) have been increased, and the cooldown timer has been reduced by 25%, significantly enhancing its effectiveness.
The update also includes various global fixes, addressing issues with character visuals, UI elements, and audio. Multiplayer improvements focus on stability and increased XP rewards in Red Light, Green Light mode. The Limited Time Mode (LTM) now includes Liberty Falls and increases the round cap to 20.
Treyarch has indicated that further bug fixes and adjustments are planned for the upcoming Season 2 update on January 28th. Until then, players can continue to earn rewards by completing the Citadelle des Morts main quest. The full January 9th patch notes are detailed below:
