Cats With Butter Head Into Toasty Platformer

A charming new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is coming soon to Android! The name itself is a clever combination of "cat" and "toast," perfectly reflecting the game's unique premise.

Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers of Cato: Buttered Cat did, and the answer is pure, gravity-defying fun! The cat spins endlessly in a delightful anti-gravity loop!

Originally created for the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam, this project by Team Woll received such positive feedback that they decided to fully develop it. The PC version is already available on Steam, with Android and other platforms to follow shortly. While the Google Play Store listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register on the official TapTap page for the Android release.

What awaits you in Cato: Buttered Cat?

This puzzle platformer lets you control both a cat and a slice of buttered toast. Work together to solve puzzles, overcome enemies, and explore a series of whimsical worlds.

Explore five unique worlds filled with quirky contraptions and machines. With 200 levels (including side quests) and 30 different outfits, there's plenty to discover. The storyline unfolds gradually, revealed through clues scattered throughout the levels.

The interplay between the cat and the toast is a highlight. The cat boasts classic feline agility, while the toast functions as a projectile. Power up the toast and launch it to help the cat reach otherwise inaccessible areas.

Cato: Buttered Cat also includes hidden rooms and numerous Easter eggs. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek!

I'm eagerly awaiting the Android release! In the meantime, check out our coverage of Operation Lucent Arrowhead, the Arknights x Rainbow Six Siege crossover.
