In *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*, players will embark on a thrilling journey through ancient China, engaging in epic battles alongside various warlords. A key decision awaits: choosing which faction to align with. Here's a detailed guide on selecting factions in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Factions Explained

The narrative of *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* unfolds across multiple chapters. During the initial two chapters, your character, known as the Wanderer, remains unaligned, participating in battles and events like the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the Battle of Hulao Gate with factions led by Sun Jian, Cao Cao, and Liu Bei.

However, by Chapter 3, the game prompts you to make a pivotal decision. Before the chapter concludes, you must choose to join one of the three factions. By this stage, you should have a good sense of which faction aligns with your gameplay preferences, but if you're still undecided, the game offers additional battles to help you make an informed choice.

To progress, you need to complete specific missions for each faction: three for Sun Jian, two for Liu Bei, and just one for Cao Cao. Once you've fulfilled a faction's mission requirements, a new mission will unlock, forcing you to pick a side. For instance, if you complete Cao Cao's mission first, you'll be given the option to ally with him or Liu Bei, with the choice to join Liu Bei unavailable if you haven't completed his missions. You can, however, complete missions for all factions before making your final decision.

Once you commit to a faction, the others become inaccessible for the remainder of the game. This means you can no longer accept sidequests from officers of the factions you didn't choose, nor can you increase your bond with them. This decision can impact the game's difficulty, as seen when aligning with Liu Bei, who starts with fewer officers, limiting your opportunities to earn skill points from sidequests.

Each faction offers unique missions, adding replay value to *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*. To experience all the game has to offer, consider saving your game before choosing a faction, allowing you to reload and explore different alliances later.

That's how you select a faction in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*. The game is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, offering players a rich and immersive experience in the world of ancient China.
