Facing Hirabami can be a daunting task due to their tendency to stick together. To manage this, equip yourself with Large Dung Pods. These will help scatter the group, allowing you to tackle them one at a time, simplifying the battle significantly.
Hirabami's penchant for hovering in the air can be particularly frustrating for melee fighters. To ground them, utilize Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo. If you're out of ammo, aim to sever their tail during combat, as it will drop a Tail Claw Shard that can be converted into the needed ammo.
The Hirabami's arena in the Iceshard Cliffs is littered with environmental hazards such as Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Use these to your advantage; dropping one on a Hirabami can both stun and inflict significant damage.
The head is Hirabami's weak spot, but reaching it can be tricky due to their aerial habits. Ranged weapon users will find it easier to target this area, whereas melee fighters should strike at the neck whenever the creature descends. Avoid the torso as it's heavily armored.
Hirabami's unpredictable movements include biting, spitting, and dive-bombing. Keep an eye on their head to anticipate these attacks. However, their tail is equally dangerous, swinging like a hammer. Staying mobile and alert is crucial to avoiding both head and tail attacks.

Capturing Hirabami requires you to reduce its health to 20 percent or below, indicated by a skull icon next to its symbol on the mini-map. Once at this threshold, deploy a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap to immobilize the beast. Swiftly follow up with a Tranquilizer to put it to sleep before it can break free. Successfully capturing Hirabami will conclude the battle, granting you standard rewards, though it may limit your chances of obtaining additional materials from breaking its weak spots.
To conquer the Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds, arm yourself with Large Dung Pods and consider using the SOS feature to ease the fight. Remember, preparation and strategy are key to overcoming these challenging encounters.
