Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now open for pre-registration on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market. The game blends diverse missions and modes with a tactical gameplay focus.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise is a veteran of the FPS genre, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the real-life US military unit, the series has always emphasized realistic shooter mechanics, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully reimagined Delta Force. The game features a Warfare mode offering large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, alongside Operations mode, which focuses on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the movie Black Hawk Down and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's approach, while aggressive, has drawn criticism. While the dedicated G.T.I. Security team claims to be actively combating cheating, restrictions imposed on PC hardware and software have been met with negative feedback.
While mobile platforms typically experience less cheating, this initial PC controversy might still impact Delta Force's overall reception. However, the reduced likelihood of cheating on mobile could potentially allow the game to meet expectations.
