A new Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, seems to have leaked early via GameStop, ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation.
Gematsu uncovered and shared pre-order listings for this mystery title, publishing links that appear to allow players to pre-order for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The GameStop pages currently lack images or gameplay details for the unannounced Digimon Story: Time Stranger, but further official information may be imminent.
This leak comes just hours before Sony's State of Play presentation, a 40-minute showcase with unannounced content. Given the timing and the Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-orders, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Digimon franchise featured.
The Digimon Story series predates this potential new entry, originating with Digimon Story for Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Numerous sequels followed on various platforms, including 2015's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, 2017's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, and the 2019 Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth titles.
Previous games typically involved players entering the Digimon world, befriending monsters, and engaging in RPG battles. While producer Kazumashu Habu teased a new Story game in 2022, fans have awaited a true sequel for years. Titles like Digimon Survive bridged the gap, but the wait may soon end with the official reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
