Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024. The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of remaining playtime before the servers are permanently deactivated.
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players the chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Kabam encourages remaining players to complete the final storyline before the game's closure.
Despite initial excitement among Disney fans, the game's two-year early access beta and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition. The challenging, resource-intensive shard collection system also hindered character progression, unless players invested significant funds. However, the game's creative character designs and impressive graphics were widely praised.
The abrupt EOS announcement, following a recent update that included new story content and Cinderella as a playable character, surprised many. This isn't Kabam's first game closure; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
