As Like A Dragon (LAD) gears up to celebrate its monumental 20th Anniversary in December 2025, Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio is pulling out all the stops to make this a memorable year for fans. A key part of the festivities is the launch of a special fan-voting project, inviting enthusiasts to choose from a diverse array of in-game items to be transformed into real-world merchandise.
The voting initiative kicked off on February 8, 2025, and will run until March 21, 2025. Fans have the exciting opportunity to pick from a whopping 100 items. These range from unique pieces like lingerie and incense to iconic in-game elements such as mahjong tiles, a karaoke microphone, a luxury lighter, 20th-anniversary sake, themed pillows, and Kiryu’s dragon mask. The RGG voting website has assured that the item receiving the most votes will be commercialized within the next two years, ensuring fans' favorite picks make it into the real world.
Participants can cast their vote once daily, and once the voting period concludes, a follow-up questionnaire will help determine the design of the top-voted item.
RGG Studio hinted at their plans leading up to the 20th Anniversary in a Twitter (X) post on December 8, 2024, during the series' 19th Anniversary. In the video, RGG Studios Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fanbase for their unwavering support.
Kicking off the anniversary celebrations, RGG will release Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20, 2025. Yokoyama mentioned that various events and announcements are planned leading up to the 20th anniversary, alongside the ongoing merchandise voting project. While there have been no new announcements since the video, fans are buzzing with anticipation, recalling how the 10th anniversary brought us remakes like Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami. Expectations are high for what might be in store for LAD’s 20th anniversary.
On February 10, 2025, RGG Studio shared the PC requirements for Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii via Twitter (X). The recommended graphics card is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or any equivalent or newer model, which should be well within reach for most gaming setups.
Given that the game will also be available on older consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, meeting the PC specs shouldn't pose a challenge. RGG Studios also confirmed that the game is Steam Deck verified, ensuring a smooth gaming experience across various platforms.
SEGA recently released a captivating story trailer on YouTube, highlighting Majima’s adventures on the High Seas, narrated by the Pirate King Raymond Law, brought to life by wrestling superstar Samoa Joe.
