Exciting news for fans of the classic strategy game *ROME: Total War* on Android! Feral Interactive has just released a significant free update dubbed the Imperium Update, which introduces a host of gameplay enhancements, control refinements, and quality-of-life improvements. If you've been enjoying this game since its launch on Android back in 2018, you're in for a treat with these new features. What's more, this update will soon extend to the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, which are slated to receive the same enhancements next week.
The Imperium Update integrates some of the best elements from Feral Interactive's more recent mobile titles, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection, which enhance unit command and make battles more strategic and precise. With these new modes, you can easily move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.
Positioning Mode allows for meticulous unit placement with a tap-and-hold function. The Group Grid feature simplifies unit group management through a collapsible selection menu. Meanwhile, Melee Mode enables ranged units to seamlessly switch to close combat when the situation demands it.
A standout feature of the update is Command Slowdown, which automatically slows the game when you're issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been added for Android and iPad users, enhancing the gaming experience.
The minimap in *ROME: Total War* has been revamped to resemble the one found in *MEDIEVAL II*, offering smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly revert to the default view, improving user-friendliness.
The Imperium Update is now available for download on the Google Play Store for all *ROME: Total War* Android owners. Don't miss out on these improvements! Keep an eye out for the updates coming to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week, and make sure to check them out once they go live.
