Running a livestock farm in Fields of Mistria can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting your animals can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, while the base game doesn't include an auto-petter, modding offers a solution.

The Animal Friends mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods provides an auto-pet and auto-feed function for your livestock. However, you'll need the Mods of Mistria Installer to use it.
Here's how to install the Animal Friends mod:
AnimalFriends.zip
from Nexus Mods and place it in the "Mods" folder. The Animal Friends mod offers several customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and prevention of friendship loss. The multiplier increases the hearts your animals gain, while the loss prevention ensures hearts don't decrease.
To adjust settings, locate AnimalFriends.json
within the extracted mod folder. This file is a simple text document. Enable features by changing "false" to "true," and disable them by changing "true" to "false."
The friendship multiplier requires a numerical input between 1 and 100. Setting it to 100 bypasses bonding, while 1 disables the feature.
Note: The mod's default settings don't automatically activate auto-petting or auto-feeding. However, it does multiply heart gains from petting by five and automatically activates friendship loss prevention.
To remove the mod, use the Mods of Mistria Installer's uninstall function to avoid potential save file corruption. Remember to back up your save file before installing any mods.
Fields of Mistria is available on PC.
