Making a comeback from Chapter 2 Season 7, the Rail Gun returns in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, albeit with slightly reduced damage. Despite the nerfs, it remains a powerful weapon that can significantly impact your chances of victory.

While not excessively rare, the Rail Gun isn't readily available from NPCs. This high-tech weapon requires a bit of luck.

How to Get the Rail Gun in Fortnite

Found in Epic and Legendary rarities, the Rail Gun is obtained solely through chests and floor loot. The abundance of loot sources in Chapter 6 Season 1, including loot caves and hidden vaults, increases your chances of finding one. However, it ultimately relies on chance.

Rail Gun Stats in Fortnite

Rarity Epic Legendary

Fire Rate 1 1
Magazine Size 1 1
Reload Time 2.37 2.2
Structure DMG 525 550
  • A high-tech rifle; charge it to fire a powerful shot, effective against enemies behind cover.

The Rail Gun's charge time is approximately 3 seconds, with an additional 3-second hold before automatic firing. Accuracy is challenging due to the inability to cancel the charge and the constant movement of opponents.

Despite impressive structure and headshot damage, the Rail Gun's low fire rate and difficulty in hitting targets make it less reliable than other options, such as a Hunting Rifle with Heavy Bullets. However, it remains a fun and potentially game-changing weapon worth experimenting with.
