Fortnite Adds a Highly Requested Feature

Fortnite's Chapter 6 Season 1 update introduces a highly anticipated feature: using Fortnite Festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings. This addition, readily accessible via a new "instruments" filter in the locker, has been met with enthusiastic player response.

The update doesn't stop there. Alongside the instrument cosmetics, a Godzilla collaboration delivers fresh outfits and accessories, further enhancing the gameplay experience. This follows December 2024's additions of Ballistic, LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life, and Fortnite OG modes.

Fortnite Festival itself continues to evolve, acting as a unique, rhythm-based game mode reminiscent of Guitar Hero. Players can purchase licensed music and instrument cosmetics from the Item Shop. Recent additions include local co-op and collaborations with renowned artists such as Snoop Dogg, Metallica, and Lady Gaga.

The integration of Festival instruments into the battle royale mode is a surprising but welcome addition. Players can now equip microphones, guitars, and other instruments as both pickaxes and back blings simultaneously. The instrument seamlessly transitions between these roles; disappearing when used as a pickaxe and reappearing upon weapon or item selection. This update also features a Hatsune Miku crossover, adding new outfits and instruments.

Accessing the new instrument feature is straightforward: navigate to the locker and utilize the new "instruments" sorting option for back blings and pickaxes. Existing instruments previously limited to back bling or pickaxe use have also been updated for Fortnite Festival compatibility. This enhancement directly addresses a long-standing player request, resulting in overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The update also includes new Godzilla-themed cosmetics, offering pink and blue edit styles alongside unlockable accessories like wraps, harvesters, and gliders, earned through battle pass challenges. The abundance of new content has generated significant excitement within the Fortnite community.
