The long-awaited return of Fortnite to the U.S. Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad users has finally happened. Developer Epic Games announced the exciting news through a post on X/Twitter, informing mobile gaming fans that they can once again dive into the massively popular battle royale game after a five-year hiatus. The Fortnite iOS store page looks just as it did when it was removed in 2020, but now sports a new message at the beginning of its description: “Fortnite is back!”

At the time of this story’s publication, some U.S. Apple users might find it difficult to search for Fortnite directly through the App Store, but Epic assures that this issue will be resolved “soon.” In the meantime, you can access its revived store page by clicking here. For players in the E.U., Fortnite is also available for download through the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
The return of Fortnite to iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad marks the end of a significant chapter in the ongoing saga between Epic and Apple. The conflict began in August 2020 when both Google and Apple removed Fortnite from their stores after Epic introduced an update that reduced the price of V-Bucks and implemented a direct payment system. Epic cited the high fees charged by Apple and Google as the reason for their move.
This sparked a legal battle that kept Fortnite off official storefronts, affecting millions of players who previously enjoyed the game on Apple and Google platforms. The situation changed in April when Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced Fortnite's return to the iOS App Store for early May, following a ruling by a U.S. Federal District Court in California. A last-minute delay due to continued resistance from Apple pushed back the return, but now, after five years, Fortnite is back on iOS devices.
Players downloading Fortnite on their Apple phones or tablets will now have the option to buy V-Bucks either through the Epic Games Store or via in-app purchases. For instance, those opting for the 2,800 V-Bucks pack at $22.99 can choose to pay Epic directly and receive $4.60 (20%) back, which can be used on other Epic offerings.

Players discovered a way to make the bot say “f\*\*k,” leading to the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) filing an unfair labor practice charge against Epic just yesterday.
