The boom time continues at Games Workshop, the creators of Warhammer 40,000, who have announced a generous £20 million (approximately $27 million) bonus for their staff.

Based in Nottingham, UK, the company behind the popular Warhammer tabletop games reported a core revenue of £560 million for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025, marking an increase from the previous period's £494.7 million. Licensing revenue also saw a significant rise, climbing to £50 million from £31 million. Core profit reached £210 million, up from £174.8 million, while licensing profit increased to £45 million from £27 million. This impressive performance resulted in a profit before tax of £255 million, up from £203 million.

In appreciation of their staff's contributions to these stellar results, Games Workshop is distributing £20 million among its employees, an increase from the £18 million bonus given the previous year. With an estimated workforce of around 1,500, this means each employee can expect a bonus of approximately £13,333 (about $18,000).

PlayGames Workshop's primary business involves selling miniatures that enthusiasts assemble and paint for use in tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000. However, the company is also expanding its footprint as an IP powerhouse, generating substantial revenue from successful video games such as last year's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and animations like Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level episode. Additionally, Games Workshop and Amazon finalized a deal last year for Henry Cavill's ambitious Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe, which will see the development of films and television series. The much-anticipated Space Marine 3 is also in the works.

Looking ahead, Games Workshop noted that while licensing revenue reached a record high during this period, it is not expected to be replicated in the 2025/26 fiscal year, though it will continue to be a key focus. With Warhammer 40,000 and the broader Warhammer franchise enjoying unprecedented popularity, the company shows no signs of slowing down.

Games Workshop recently hosted its annual Warhammer Skulls showcase, and we've compiled all the exciting announcements and trailers for you. Key highlights include the Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and the introduction of Siege mode for Space Marine 2.
