In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "In Vino Veritas" can be both engaging and a bit tricky due to its multiple steps and embedded side quest. Here's a detailed guide to help you navigate through it smoothly.

Speak with Casper and Havel

To kick off "In Vino Veritas," head to the east side of Kuttenberg City where you'll find Casper Rudolf by his drink cart. Simply enter through the east gate and proceed straight to bump into him. Casper is keen on uncovering the secret behind the monks' wine, but you'll need to take a few steps to get there. Make sure to exhaust all dialogue options with Casper to learn about Havel and the book he left with Adleta. This information is crucial for how you'll approach the initial phase of impressing Havel.

If you choose to retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall during the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta often spends her time. Before you go, pick up five Marigolds. Try to speak with Adleta before her brother, Hugo, arrives, or get Hugo's permission to talk to her. Be kind and mention that you need the book for Casper. You can attempt a skill check to persuade her or offer the Marigolds as a gift to receive the book. Once you have it, read the book from your inventory.

Alternatively, you can skip the book and head directly to Havel, who owns an inn in Kuttenberg City. Prepare by improving your drinking skills and wearing an outfit that boosts your Charisma to at least 18. Engage Havel with the following dialogue choices:

• Germany. Let’s do it.
• That’s a very fine gift.
• Steinberger.
• It’s missing ginger.

These choices will help you make a good impression on Havel, prompting him to share the monastery's secret ingredient. Return to Casper with this information.

Next, journey to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg and speak to the recruiter to initiate the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. Although completing this side quest isn't mandatory, starting it allows you to roam the vineyard freely. Inside, find Jerome, usually seated on a bench near the main building.

Sneak into the main building, turn left, and head to the storeroom. Use your lockpicking skills to open the chests and retrieve the Sulphur Wicks, which are what Casper needs. For some extra Groschen, you can also head to the garden behind the main building and collect five seedlings before you leave.

If you decide to complete "Under the Straw Hat," engage in tasks like clearing plants around the vines and moving sacks. Once you've done enough work, report back to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the wicks and any seedlings you've collected.
