Exciting news for fans of the brutal world of Mortal Kombat 1: a dedicated dataminer, InfiniteNightZ, has unearthed what appears to be strong evidence pointing to the return of Hara-Kiri Fatalities in the game. These self-inflicted finishers, famously introduced in 2004's Mortal Kombat: Deception, allow a defeated player to spectacularly end their own life in a dramatic flourish. InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what seem to be Hara-Kiri animations, sparking speculation and excitement within the community.

What makes this discovery particularly intriguing is that the animations were found for recently added DLC characters, such as Ghostface. This suggests that these Hara-Kiri Fatalities may be integrated into Mortal Kombat 1 in a future update, rather than being abandoned. "After seeing that they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible," InfiniteNightZ remarked optimistically.

Furthermore, InfiniteNightZ hinted that these Hara-Kiri animations might be implemented as Quitalities, a type of finisher that activates when a player exits a multiplayer match prematurely. Referencing the game's code, InfiniteNightZ noted, "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope."

Adding to the buzz, another renowned Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer, Interloko, discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations following InfiniteNightZ's initial find. Interloko shared:

Thanks @MatthewDim40523 for tag me
Here are another 2 missing from the video, so looks like only Omniman and Conan doesn't have one.

I didn't try to trigger it in the game because I'm bussy finishing some stuff of the demo of my own game https://t.co/TqBKyauY0G pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf

While these discoveries have stirred excitement among fans, it's important to remember that nothing has been officially confirmed by either NetherRealm or Warner Bros. Games regarding the addition of Quitalities to Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 has recently seen a surge in interest with the addition of a hidden fight featuring Floyd, the pink ninja, alongside a community-driven effort to unlock him. Moreover, fans eagerly await the arrival of the T-1000 as a guest character, with hopes for more exciting DLC on the horizon, though NetherRealm has yet to make any official announcements.
