If you're passionate about Japanese music, you're likely familiar with HYDE, the renowned artist who has graced Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, HYDE takes center stage as the protagonist in a newly launched global endless runner game called "Hyde Run."
Initially released in Japan, "Hyde Run" is now accessible to players around the world. The game's developer and publisher, Phoenixx, aims to provide global fans with a unique way to celebrate HYDE's illustrious music career through a game brimming with references to his journey.
In "Hyde Run," you'll experience the thrill of parkour across a concert stage and a futuristic Tokyo simultaneously. As HYDE, you'll navigate a high-speed chase through Neo Tokyo, skillfully dodging obstacles, wall-running past billboards, and collecting musical notes.
The game's atmosphere is distinctively vibrant, infused with neon lights and the electrifying energy of a guitar solo, setting it apart from typical endless runners. "Hyde Run" uniquely incorporates fan service and specific nods to HYDE's career.
While dashing through the city, you can pick up various power-ups, such as magnets that attract notes to you and barriers that protect against damage.
Before embarking on each run, you can equip items to enhance your performance. Use a "Note Gain" to collect more notes, or opt for a "Barrier" if you want to avoid tripping over obstacles.
Additionally, you can gather crystals to unlock exclusive outfits and room items from HYDE's career. Unlocking the Microphone Stand grants access to voice clips from HYDE himself.
You can also personalize HYDE's room in the game, featuring memorabilia spanning 20 years, including old tour gear and subtle references. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE.
Currently, there's a selection of limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. The "THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set" dresses HYDE in his iconic music video look, complemented by matching "ROCK Furniture" like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights.
For a more relaxed and summer-festival vibe, the "Bat Jinbei Costume Set" is available. Additionally, a traditional Japanese-style furniture set featuring bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime shaped like HYDE's Edyh character adds a cultural touch.
