Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Akupara Games has already released several intriguing titles this year, including the Darkside Detective series and Zoeti.
The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre, atmospheric bazaar shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment.
The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the remarkable ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in the dilapidated mining colony shantytown. You play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment—a character both unsettling and captivating.
Exploring the ramshackle colony, with its quirky tea shops and other strange establishments, you eventually discover Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop. Lila's mysterious nature gradually unfolds as you shift between her perspective and the Master's throughout the game.
Playing as Lila allows you to create universes in a mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to generate visually stunning worlds. Meanwhile, the Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the underlying events. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the world is richly detailed, inviting exploration of every corner.
