Karrablast and Shelmet will take center stage during February's Pokémon Go Community Day. Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 9th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time, as these Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Keep your eyes peeled for their Shiny forms, which might just make an appearance. Alongside the increased spawns, you can enjoy the usual Community Day bonuses and tackle additional research tasks.
Catching enough Karrablast and Shelmet during the event will allow you to evolve them into Escavalier and Accelgor, respectively, with exclusive charged attacks. Escavalier will learn Razor Shell, boasting 35 power in Trainer Battles and 55 power in gyms and raids, while Accelgor will gain Energy Ball, with a consistent 90 power across all battles.
For $2 or your local equivalent, you can purchase a Community Day Special Research ticket. This ticket offers encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet against a Dual Destiny-themed Special Background, along with additional encounters, a Premium Battle Pass, and Rare Candy XL.
Don't miss out on the free Timed Research quest available to those who log in during the event. This quest provides another opportunity to encounter the themed Pokémon and increases your chances of finding their Shiny versions. Plus, you can redeem Pokémon Go codes for some additional freebies!
During the three-hour event window, you'll benefit from triple XP and double Candy for catching Pokémon, with an enhanced chance for Trainers level 31 and above to receive Candy XL. Lure Modules and Incense will last for three hours, and trading will be enhanced with one additional Special Trade and a 50% reduction in Stardust costs.
Community Day-themed Field Research will reward you with Stardust, Great Balls, and additional encounters. You might also participate in PokéStop Showcases for another fun way to engage with the event.
To stock up on supplies, two Community Day bundles will be available in the shop, and an Ultra Community Day Box will be offered on the Pokémon Go Web Store starting February 3rd.
