The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent CoD titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone can leverage existing resources to accelerate their progress. This guide explains how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.
Following the Season 01 update to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens in Black Ops 6. Initially, these were readily usable for boosting XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a November 15th update addressed a bug that allowed these tokens to be activated within the Black Ops 6 interface, as noted on the official Call of Duty Blog.
These Legacy XP Tokens are unused XP tokens carried over from previous Call of Duty titles accessible through the COD HQ app, such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone. These tokens were earned through various methods in those games, including (but not limited to) DMZ missions, Battle Pass tiers, and promotions with partners like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While the direct activation in Black Ops 6 was patched, these tokens remain usable in Warzone.

At the launch of Season 01, players could activate their Warzone Legacy XP tokens directly within Black Ops 6. This functionality was temporarily removed but a workaround existed.
The workaround involved activating the Legacy XP Tokens in Warzone. Once activated, the token and its timer would then appear in the Black Ops 6 UI. While requiring switching between games, this method provided a boost to XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression in Black Ops 6. Remember that XP tokens have a real-time countdown timer.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
