Tidepool Games has just released a thrilling new game on Android that combines the fast-paced action of pixel art with the addictive mechanics of a 'snakelike' roguelike. What’s MageTrain Like?

MageTrain ingeniously blends elements of Snake, auto-battlers, and roguelikes into an exhilarating experience. You take command of a train of heroes that trail behind you in a snakelike formation, automatically attacking enemies as you navigate the arena.

Your key task is to strategically manage the positioning of your heroes. The lead hero sets the course, while the others follow, and their abilities vary based on their position within the train. At launch, you have access to nine unique heroes, including one that amusingly throws birds. Each hero brings different skills to the table, which can change depending on their placement in the line-up.

As you progress, you'll journey through eight distinct dungeons, facing off against 28 different enemy types and harnessing 30 skills to fortify your team. Along the way, you'll gather gold and power-ups to enhance your run.

The roguelike nature of MageTrain ensures that every playthrough is unique. You'll navigate branching paths, make critical upgrade choices, and strive to survive as long as possible. This format is reminiscent of games like Slay the Spire or FTL, where there are no fixed levels and no option to save your progress. One misstep, whether it's crashing into an obstacle or being overrun by enemies, and you'll need to start anew.
