For Magic: The Gathering fans looking forward to the highly anticipated Final Fantasy set, the wait just got a little less painful. Today, Wizards of the Coast treated enthusiasts to an exclusive first look at over a dozen never-before-seen cards, including iconic characters like Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and more.
This sneak peek also introduces several new card designs and art variations, adding to the excitement. Alongside the four commander cards previously revealed—Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra—fans were introduced to powerful legendaries such as Sephiroth and Cecil. The gallery also showcases a new Food token artwork and variations on cards like Stilzkin, Moogle Merchant; Sin, Spira's Punishment; and Summon: Shiva.

The latest reveal highlights some standout features of the set, such as Summons, which mark Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can summon during battles (check out Summon: Shiva in the gallery). Double-faced cards make a comeback, as seen with Cecil's dual personas: Dark Knight and Redeemed Paladin.
With over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless ones, this set pays homage to fan-favorite artists from the Final Fantasy series' storied history.
The Final Fantasy-themed set is designed to be fully draftable and Standard-legal. It will launch alongside four preconstructed Commander decks, each inspired by different Final Fantasy games: 6, 7, 10, and 14. Each Commander deck contains 100 cards, blending both newly created Final Fantasy cards with existing ones featuring fresh art inspired by the series.
Mark your calendars—this exciting collaboration drops on June 13.
