Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Get ready, Marvel Rivals fans! Season 2 is bringing exciting changes, focusing on revamped team-up skills and brand-new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man. Let's dive into what NetEase has planned.

Upcoming Updates for Marvel Rivals

Revamped Team-Up Skills

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen revealed significant changes to team-up skills in an interview with PC Gamer on March 14th. He confirmed the introduction of new team-up skills alongside adjustments to existing ones. This, combined with overall balance changes, promises a fresh combat experience for Season 2. With 17 current team-up skills—including Ragnarok Rebirth, Lunar Force, and Allied Agents—balancing this growing roster will be a significant challenge for NetEase.

Hero Balancing: A Continuous Effort

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Chen detailed the meticulous balancing process, emphasizing the use of key metrics like win rates, pick rates, and damage dealt across different game modes. Data analysis from Quick Match and Competitive Modes, combined with an understanding of hero lineup compositions, guides their balancing decisions. Crucially, player feedback also plays a vital role in shaping the game's balance.

Chen previously mentioned (in a January interview with Metro) the addition of a new hero every half-season. With three-month seasons, this translates to eight new heroes annually. This continuous expansion presents a persistent balancing challenge for the development team. However, Chen confirmed that Season 2 content is ready, and Seasons 3 and 4 are in intensive development. This reinforces NetEase's ten-year commitment to Marvel Rivals, assuring fans of ongoing support and updates.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Arrive March 20th

NetEase announced on March 18th (via Marvel Rivals' official Twitter/X account) the arrival of new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man on March 20th at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21st at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man gets a futuristic "Spider-Punk 2099" skin, complete with a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and electric guitar. Iron Man dons a steampunk-inspired "Steam Power" skin featuring large exhaust pipes and a burning furnace. These skins, previously seen in the closed beta, follow the recent release of Loki's Presidential attire—another beta favorite. While the release date is set, pricing details remain undisclosed.

With Season 1 concluding and Season 2 on the horizon, NetEase is clearly dedicated to evolving Marvel Rivals. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates!
