Get ready, web-heads! Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is swinging onto PC on January 30th, 2025. This highly anticipated release follows the successful PC ports of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales.
Announced at New York Comic Con, the PC version, developed by Nixxes Software in collaboration with Insomniac Games, promises a top-tier experience. Expect ray tracing, ultrawide monitor support, and extensive graphical customization options. While DualSense features won't be replicated, keyboard and mouse support will be fully optimized.
Nixxes Software, renowned for its PlayStation-to-PC ports (including Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima), assures a seamless transition. "Bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to PC...has been a great experience," stated Nixxes Community Manager Julian Huijbregts. Insomniac Games' Mike Fitzgerald added that the PC port will offer a truly tailored experience for PC gamers.
The PC release will include all post-launch content from the PS5 version, boasting twelve new suits (including Symbiote Suit styles), New Game+, "Ultimate Levels," enhanced Photo Mode, new time-of-day options, and post-game achievements. The Digital Deluxe Edition will offer even more. However, no new story content is planned.
A significant drawback is the requirement of a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, a trend emerging with several recent PlayStation PC ports. This excludes players in regions without PSN access, raising concerns about accessibility. While Sony reversed a similar requirement for Helldivers 2, the issue remains a point of contention for many gamers.
Despite this, the arrival of all three Insomniac Spider-Man games on PC marks a significant step for Sony in expanding its reach beyond PlayStation consoles. Game8 awarded Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 an 88, praising it as a superb sequel. The January 2025 PC release is highly anticipated by both returning and new players.
