Following an electrifying conclusion at the 2024 Esports World Cup, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational (MWI) is set to make a thrilling comeback in Riyadh, scheduled from July 15th to 19th, 2025. Last year, Smart Omega Empress stunned fans worldwide by defeating the previously unbeatable Team Vitality in the Grand Final, ending their impressive three-year, 24-tournament winning streak.
In 2025, the competition intensifies with 16 elite all-women MLBB teams vying for supremacy and a historic prize pool. The event will commence with a double-elimination Group Stage, featuring all qualified teams. The top eight teams will then advance to a high-stakes single-elimination playoff, battling for a share of the $550,000 prize pool and a $10,000 MVP bonus for the tournament's standout player.
The qualifiers for MWI 2025 have expanded globally, attracting top talent from various regions. Notable teams that have already secured their spots include DreamMax from the MWI 2025 LATAM Qualifiers, CFU Serendipity from Queen Legends Season 1, NAVI MY from the MYSG Qualifier, and Falcons Vega MENA from the Carry1st Africa Cup. Additional teams will earn their place through ongoing regional events such as BOG Season 1, Athena League, and Lady MVP Season 6, with further qualifiers from China, North America, Mekong, Mongolia, and Türkiye to be finalized soon.
MWI's return is a highlight of the broader Esports World Cup 2025, which brings together top clubs from multiple games in a unique cross-game competition format. As defending champions, Smart Omega Empress will return to the arena, but with fierce competition from around the world, their title defense is anything but assured.
