Mortal Kombat 1 added a secret fighter with a reference to a legendary rock band

This week's Mortal Kombat 1 update delivered a surprising addition alongside the anticipated Conan the Barbarian: a secret fighter, a pink-clad ninja named Floyd! While initially appearing as a playful Easter egg, Floyd is a fully functional character.

The character is a clear homage to the iconic Pink Floyd, mirroring the band's Dark Side of the Moon album cover in his design and moveset. Floyd's fighting style is a unique blend of moves borrowed from other ninjas in the game, incorporating Sub-Zero's freezing abilities and Scorpion's spear attacks. Adding to the fun, Floyd boasts a quirky 1337 health points.

This secret character evokes memories of Reptile, the hidden fighter from the original Mortal Kombat game, who similarly utilized a moveset compiled from other ninjas. Currently, unlocking Floyd remains a mystery, with players actively searching for the specific in-game triggers. While Floyd offers clues to the necessary challenges, a definitive method remains unconfirmed.
