Nintendo Canada has confirmed that pre-orders in their region are also facing delays, dashing hopes of securing a console through friends or family in Winnipeg.

"Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in Canada will not commence on April 9, 2025, as we aim to synchronize the timing with pre-orders in the U.S., which are yet to be determined," Nintendo of Canada stated to Canadian tech outlet MobileSyrup.

"Nintendo will share updated information in due time. The launch date of June 5, 2025 remains unchanged."

In other regions, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders have already gone live in the UK today, with smaller retailers like EE, GAME, and Smyths selling out fast. Scalpers have quickly taken to eBay, offering their pre-orders for £500 ($639) or more, significantly above the retail price of £395.99 ($506).
