Meridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has unfortunately cancelled the physical release of the game for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Europe. The cancellation, announced via X (formerly Twitter), cites technical difficulties with multilingual European localization as the reason.
While the publisher offered no further details regarding the localization issues, the cancellation follows a string of delays. Initial listings pointed to a March 2023 release, later pushed to December 2023, then March 2024, and finally January 2025 before the ultimate cancellation. Pre-orders through retailers like Amazon were subsequently affected.
This news is understandably disappointing to fans, particularly as a physical European release would have offered the game officially in Spanish and other local languages for the first time. European players can still access the game via import, purchasing a US copy for their Switch or PS4.
Omori, an RPG following Sunny's journey through reality and his dream world as Omori, initially launched on PC in December 2020 before expanding to Switch, PS4, and Xbox in 2022. Note that the Xbox version is no longer available due to a past issue with merchandise sold by the developer.
