Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is set to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 24. This enhanced edition includes everything from the original *Super Mario Party Jamboree* game for Nintendo Switch, plus a brand-new expansion called Jamboree TV—a lively, game show-style experience hosted by Toad himself. Preorders are live now—check it out at Walmart and other major retailers.
Whether you're upgrading from the original or jumping in fresh, this version of the game is available in one complete edition. No confusing variants here—just a full package packed with new features exclusive to the Switch 2 platform.
Nintendo has introduced a tiered pricing model for its Nintendo Switch 2 titles, with *Super Mario Party Jamboree* landing at the top end of the scale. While most first-party Switch games were priced at $59.99 (with some exceptions like *The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom* at $69.99), Switch 2 games are seeing a price bump up to $79.99. Other flagship titles like *Mario Kart World* also fall into this premium category, while others remain at $69.99 or lower.
If you already own the original *Super Mario Party Jamboree* on Nintendo Switch, you don’t have to rebuy the entire game. The Switch 2 upgrade pack—which enhances the base game with higher resolution, smoother frame rates, and the all-new Jamboree TV content—is available separately via the Nintendo eShop and select retailers as a physical download code. This lets you save money while still getting access to the latest enhancements and exclusive features.
The highlight of this release is the exclusive Jamboree TV expansion for Nintendo Switch 2. This mode introduces a variety of new minigames and gameplay mechanics that take full advantage of the Switch 2's upgraded hardware. Features include support for audio recognition, mouse controls, advanced HD rumble effects, and integration with the optional Nintendo Switch 2 camera accessory (sold separately; see it at Target).
One of the standout additions involves using the camera to insert players' faces directly into the game world. Up to four players can participate using a single camera, engaging in quirky challenges like balancing digital Goombas on their heads or hitting question blocks with Joy-Con controllers. These interactive elements make Jamboree TV a fun and immersive party experience.
This expansion is arguably one of the most significant updates to any Switch 2-enhanced title so far, especially appealing to those who enjoy local multiplayer sessions with friends and family.
The original *Super Mario Party Jamboree* was a critical hit and one of our favorite entries in the series. From our 9/10 review:
“Super Mario Party Jamboree is an amazing followup to Mario Party Superstars and easily one of the best games in the series. Not only does it faithfully return to the classic formula established in the Nintendo 64 entries, it confidently improves upon it with a fantastic set of boards that introduce unique and memorable mechanics. It’s also the most flexible Mario Party has ever been, with tons of ways to customize your game, including its brilliant new optional Pro Rules that reduce luck-based elements to a minimum and crank up the strategy for those who want it. The wonderful maps are supported by a great lineup of new and returning minigames and character-specific challenges that steal the show, even if I wish there were just a few more minigames in the rotation. The side offerings may not have much staying power, but when partying with friends and family locally or online, Super Mario Party Jamboree boldly completes the series’ redemption arc as its newest superstar.”
