RuneScape: Dragonwilds’ upcoming update addresses Velgar’s meteor attacks. Learn what’s coming in patch 0.7.3 and what’s next for the developers.
It’s been several weeks since RuneScape: Dragonwilds launched into early access, and players continue to embrace this open-world survival experience. On May 2, Jagex shared the patch notes for the upcoming 0.7.3 update, which introduces cloud saves, a fix for Velgar’s meteors, and other improvements.
A key feature of the game is the formidable dragons prowling the Fellhollow region, with Velgar standing as the most dangerous. While his fire-breathing threat is intended to be challenging, some mechanics may have made him overly punishing. Currently, his meteor strikes pass straight through player base roofs, leaving no safe haven. The developers confirm that the upcoming patch will resolve this, ensuring that “the meteors raining down from the Scaly Scourge should be less of a problem now.”
Another major addition in the next update is Cloud Saves, letting players access their progress across all their devices. This highly requested feature, long awaited since launch, means players no longer need to rely on local backups.
Jagex also reaffirms its commitment to listening to player feedback, recognizing its vital role in shaping the game’s future. Fans have responded warmly to Dragonwilds in early access, with the game earning “Very Positive” reviews on Steam. At Game8, we believe the game has strong potential thanks to its solid foundation—but there’s still room to grow.
