EA's long-running mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, is officially being discontinued. After a twelve-year run, the game will be unavailable for download starting October 31st, 2024, with servers shutting down completely on January 24th, 2025. In-app purchases have already been disabled.
The End of an Era
EA expressed gratitude to its players in the sunset announcement, acknowledging the over-decade-long partnership with The Simpsons and The Walt Disney Company that allowed for the creation of personalized Springfield experiences.
One Last Chance to Build Your Springfield?
For those yet to experience the game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out offers a unique city-building experience where players rebuild Springfield after Homer's accidental nuclear meltdown. Players can customize their town, interact with beloved characters like Fat Tony and Daredevil Bart, expand to Springfield Heights, and even manage the Kwik-E-Mart. The freemium model features regular updates reflecting show storylines and real-world events, with in-game "donuts" serving as the primary currency for progression.
While the game is free to download (for now!), don't miss this final opportunity to build your dream Springfield before the servers go offline. Download it from the Google Play Store before October 31st. Also, check out our article on eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit, another exciting mobile game launching this fall!
