Marvel's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the Disney+ animated series chronicling Peter Parker's freshman year, has already been greenlit for Seasons 2 and 3! Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, revealed this exciting news to The Movie Podcast. Remarkably, Season 2's scripts are complete, and half the storyboards are finished, even before Season 1 premieres on January 29th.
Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics. What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off. And you feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season...it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons."
He also mentioned upcoming meetings with Trammell to discuss Season 3's pitch, though release dates for both Season 2 and 3 remain undisclosed.

The series follows Peter Parker's journey through his first year of high school as he develops his superpowers. While it's currently unclear whether subsequent seasons will chronologically follow Peter's high school years, the early renewal speaks volumes about Marvel's confidence in the show's success.
