The new Call of Duty Zombies map, The Tomb, introduces a returning Wonder Weapon: the Staff of Ice, originally featured in Black Ops II's Origins. This guide details how to obtain it.
While the Staff of Ice, like its Black Ops II counterpart, requires three parts, you can get lucky and find it in The Tomb's Mystery Box. However, this relies entirely on chance, with the Ray Gun also competing for a slot. Using the "Wunderbar!" GobbleGum improves your odds, but doesn't guarantee success. Building the Staff offers a more reliable method.
The first part, the Monocle, drops from the first Shock Mimic you eliminate in a match. Simply interact with it to add it to your inventory.
The Head Piece and Staff require solving similar puzzles and surviving lockdowns. These can be acquired in any order. For the Head Piece, locate the cave painting in the Neolithic Catacombs. If the wall isn't illuminated, use the Dark Aether lanterns to light the area near the painting. Shoot the Roman numerals in ascending order (I-X). A successful sequence triggers a lockdown; survive it to claim the Head Piece. If lanterns haven't spawned, visit the Dark Aether Nexus and return.
The Staff Piece is obtained similarly in the Tombs room. Illuminate the Bull Mural (head facing left) using the lanterns. Shoot the Roman numerals in ascending order (I-VIII). Survive the ensuing lockdown to obtain the Staff Piece.
With all three parts, proceed to the Dark Aether Nexus. Place the components on the central structure. Defend the Staff during assembly from a wave of enemies. Success grants you the completed Staff of Ice.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
