In Avowed's "Fires in the Mine" side quest, the choice of stopping or supporting Darle impacts rewards significantly. While both options offer XP, choosing to stop Darle yields superior overall rewards.

Supporting Darle: Results in 1026 XP. However, it eliminates monetary rewards and strains relations between Aedyrans and Thirdborn. Lying about your actions doesn't alter the outcome.

Stopping Darle: Provides a total of 1091 XP (212 XP for the kill + 879 XP for debriefing), exceeding the reward for supporting him. Additionally, you receive 900 coins from Seynon and Kada. Looting Darle's corpse yields a Blackwood Branch (a superb upgrade material), Wild Mushroom Stew, and two Beetle Pies.

While maintaining positive relations between the Thirdborn and Aedyrans is narratively beneficial, stopping Darle offers superior gameplay rewards in terms of XP, gold, and valuable loot. The choice is yours, but for optimal rewards, thwarting Darle's plan is the recommended approach.
