HoYoverse has unveiled an exciting new update for Tears of Themis titled "Ballad of the Dunes," a captivating collaboration with the Culture & Tourism Department of Gansu Province. This event uniquely merges the allure of detective gameplay with the rich cultural tapestry of Dunhuang, a historic city nestled on the edge of the Gobi Desert.
The "Ballad of the Dunes" event immerses players in a world where history, romance, and mystery intertwine amidst the timeless sands of the Silk Road. Players will embark on a journey to solve mysteries, enveloped by the enchanting ambiance of ancient Dunhuang.
This update introduces four new MR cards, each featuring characters Luke, Artem, Vyn, and Marius, beautifully styled to reflect elements of Dunhuang's culture. Expect to see depictions of flying apsaras, detailed murals, and the unique pipa played in the traditional style behind the back, reminiscent of the ancient performances seen in the Mogao Caves. The Silk Road, a historic conduit of art, culture, and trade since the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC–8 AD), is brought to life in this digital format by HoYoverse.
Each card tells a distinct story: Luke’s "In the Footsteps of Silk," Artem’s "Serenade of the Soul," Vyn’s "Reverberation Through Time," and Marius’s "Void of Creation." These cards are enhanced with Private Messages that delve into narratives spanning a millennium.
From February 13th to February 20th, 2025, players can earn Camel Bells, S-Chips, and other valuable rewards by completing event tasks. The core challenge involves flipping cells on a game board to reveal hidden rewards.
The pinnacle of the event is the opportunity to win the "Ballad of the Dunes" MR card pack. Participants can select one of the four MR cards as their final reward each round. Additionally, flipping 100 cells grants the exclusive "Celebration – Dunes" Namecard.
