Nintendo Tokyo has launched a new line of collectible magnetic Zonai Devices, dispensed via gacha machines. This article details these new collectible capsule toys.
Nintendo Tokyo's gachapon (gacha machine) now features six magnetic Zonai Device capsule toys. Exclusive to this store, the collection showcases iconic devices from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
While the game boasts a vast array of Zonai Devices, this collection focuses on six: the Zonai Fan, Flame Emitter, Portable Pot, Shock Emitter, Big Wheel, and Rocket. Each miniature device includes a magnet designed to resemble the Ultrahand's adhesive, mirroring in-game fusion mechanics. The capsules themselves are styled after the in-game Device Dispensers.
Unlike using Zonai Charges or Construct materials in the game, acquiring these collectibles requires a monetary investment. Each capsule costs approximately $4, with a two-capsule purchase limit per transaction. Customers must rejoin the queue for additional attempts, which may involve significant wait times given the game's popularity.
Nintendo's gachapon program began in June 2021 with the Controller Button Collection at its Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto locations, appealing to retro console enthusiasts. This featured six controller keychains, equally split between Famicom and NES designs. A second wave, released in July 2024, expanded the collection to include SNES, N64, and GameCube controllers.
These exclusive items are also available at Nintendo's Check-In booth in Narita Airport. While the Zonai Devices are currently Tokyo-exclusive, future availability at other locations or through resellers (at potentially inflated prices) remains a possibility.
