Marvel SNAP’s inaugural Spotlight Cache card of 2025 is Victoria Hand, an Ongoing character who buffs cards generated in your hand. Though often viewed as a card tailored for the card-generation archetype, Victoria has shown surprising value in discard decks as well. In this guide, we’ll explore two reliable decklists for Victoria Hand from each archetype, helping you integrate her into Marvel SNAP’s evolving metagame.

Victoria Hand (2–3)

Ongoing: Your cards that were created in your hand gain +2 Power.
Series: Five (Ultra Rare)
Season: Dark Avengers
Release: January 7, 2025

The Best Deck for Victoria Hand

Victoria Hand synergizes beautifully with the card-generation archetype, particularly when paired with Devil Dinosaur. To maximize the synergy, combine this duo with the following cards: Quinjet, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Cosmo, The Collector, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl.

Flex options like Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Frigga can be swapped out for Iron Patriot, Mystique, and Speed based on your preference.

Key Synergies:

  • Victoria Hand: Buffs cards added to your hand via card generators.
  • Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, Moon Girl: Serve as your card generators. (Frigga and Moon Girl also help duplicate key cards like Victoria Hand for additional buffs or disruptions.)
  • Quinjet: Discounts generated cards, enabling you to play more of them.
  • The Collector: Gains strength with every generated card.
  • Cosmo: Acts as a tech card. Placing her in the Devil Dino and Victoria Hand lane shields them from most enemy attacks.
  • Devil Dino: Your primary win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or when you have multiple generated cards in hand.

A few players have noted that Victoria might buff cards generated in the enemy’s hand or cards that switch sides. It remains unclear whether this is intentional or a bug. If intentional, her text will need updating, as it explicitly states that only cards generated in "your" hand should receive her buffs. Keep this in mind while playing Victoria decks.

How to Play Victoria Hand Effectively

If you’re planning to use a Victoria Hand deck, here are some tips to maximize its potential:

  1. Balance Card Generation and Energy Consumption: Aim for a full hand to ensure Devil Dino grows as large as possible. However, leave room for generating cards and leveraging Victoria’s buffs. Efficient Energy management is crucial, and sometimes skipping turns to maintain a full hand outweighs immediate board control.
  2. Use Joker Cards Strategically: Victoria Hand decks generate plenty of random cards. Deploy some strategically as faint plays to mislead opponents and keep them guessing.
  3. Protect Your Ongoing Lane: Opponents will likely focus on disabling your Victoria Hand lane with tech cards such as Enchantress. Pair Devil Dino and Victoria in the same lane (creating an Ongoing setup) and shield them with Cosmo.

Alternative Discard Deck for Victoria Hand

In today’s meta, Victoria Hand is finding success in some refined discard decks. Combine her with these discard-focused stars: Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.

How to Counter Victoria Hand

In the current metagame, Super Skrull is an excellent counter for Victoria Hand. Many players still run Doctor Doom 2099 decks, and Super Skrull can capitalize on these setups, making him a versatile tech card regardless of whether the opponent plays Victoria Hand or Doom 2099.

Other effective counters include Shadow King and Enchantress. Shadow King can remove Victoria’s buffs in one lane, while Enchantress disables all Ongoing effects by removing them entirely. Alternatively, deploying Valkyrie in a critical lane can disrupt the enemy’s Power distribution.

Is 'Victoria Hand' Worth It?

Victoria Hand is undoubtedly worth the investment. Whether acquired through the Spotlight Cache or purchased with Tokens, she offers a solid return on investment. Although her effectiveness relies somewhat on RNG, her permanent buffs make it easier to build consistent decks around her. Multiple archetypes—card-generation and discard among them—benefit significantly from her effect, making her a must-have for many players.
