The open beta for aircraft battles in War Thunder Mobile has officially launched, bringing a thrilling wave of aerial action to the game. Gaijin Entertainment has introduced this exciting update, allowing players to test over 100 planes from three nations, with more on the way. While aircraft have been part of the game, mainly for naval and ground support, this open beta introduces a comprehensive aerial tech tree and a dedicated air-focused mode.
Currently, the game features aircraft from three major nations: the USA, Germany, and the USSR. You'll find iconic planes like the P-51 Mustang, Messerschmitt Bf 109, and the La-5 in the lineup, with more nations to be added later. Players have the flexibility to focus on one nation's tech tree or mix and match to progress through multiple. High-ranking aircraft can be obtained through blueprints earned by participating in in-game events, with the first event scheduled for early October.
Upon entering the open beta, players will have access to the new Aviation campaign. This feature allows you to explore the aircraft hangar, research tech trees, and upgrade your crews. You can form squadrons with up to four planes at a time, modify your aircraft, and choose different armaments. Here's a sneak peek of what's in store:
The aircraft hangar will be a central hub between battles, where you can view your vehicles, select camouflage, explore the tech tree, and invite friends to join your squad. For each aircraft slot, you have three main options: swap out the vehicle, modify the armament, or upgrade the assigned crew. You can build a squadron using any available aircraft, regardless of class, nation, or rank.
With all these new features, there's plenty to explore. Download War Thunder Mobile from the Google Play Store and dive into the aircraft open beta test today.
