Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery will enter its seventh and final phase on January 28. This update will bring the exciting Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the Scourge Invasions event to players. Shortly after, on February 6, guilds will have the opportunity to tackle the legendary Naxxramas raid, which promises new challenges and twists.
Phase 7 comes just two months after Phase 6, which took players to Silithus for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the Ahn'qiraj raids. During their adventures in Ahn'qiraj, players encountered a mysterious Shadowy Figure amidst the desert ruins. Although some speculated this figure to be Xal'atath, the main antagonist from World of Warcraft: The War Within, the NPC only offered cryptic comments about the Old Gods in Phase 6. It remains unclear whether the Shadowy Figure will reappear in Phase 7.
While Phase 7 marks the end of Season of Discovery, World of Warcraft Classic players will still have plenty of new content to explore. Phase 7 will kick off on Tuesday, January 28, following server maintenance. Once servers are back up, players can dive into the new Karazhan Crypts 5-player dungeon located beneath the iconic tower in Deadwind Pass. This area, which later became a 10-player raid in The Burning Crusade, now offers a fresh challenge. Additionally, the Scourge Invasions event will see hordes of undead creatures attacking various zones and cities across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players can engage in new Scourge Invasion quests at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands, and collect Necrotic Runes from defeated undead to purchase new consumable items.
New runes from Rune Brokers in starting zones and capital cities will be available with the start of Phase 7. On February 6, the Naxxramas raid will open its doors, challenging players to conquer its four wings and face the final bosses, Sapphiron and Kel'thuzad, in the Frostwyrm Lair. Like the Ahn'qiraj raid, Naxxramas will feature an "Empower" difficulty option for added challenge.
Although Season of Discovery will conclude with Phase 7, World of Warcraft Classic has a packed schedule for 2025 across its various versions. The future of Blizzard's Seasonal realms remains to be seen, but fans can look forward to more exciting developments.
