Ubisoft Confirms More “Driver” Projects After Cancelation of Show Adaptation

Ubisoft has shared exciting news for fans of the Driver franchise, despite the recent setback of the live-action series being shelved. Dive deeper into what Ubisoft revealed about the future of this beloved action-adventure driving game series.

Live-Action ‘Driver’ Series Shelved

Ubisoft has officially announced to Game File that the much-anticipated live-action adaptation of their Driver series will not be moving forward. The project, which was set to stream exclusively on Binge.com, was part of Ubisoft's broader strategy to expand their gaming universes into new media formats. Danielle Kreinik, head of Ubisoft Film & Television, expressed their initial enthusiasm, stating, "Our mission is to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming."

Unfortunately, the project hit a roadblock when Hotrod Tanner LLC, a subsidiary named after the series' protagonist and involved in the film's production, closed its doors in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed the end of the partnership, stating, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."
