Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku and want to challenge friends? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you compete against other players or teams. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each row, column, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before starting, adjust the difficulty (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest) in the game options. This sets the initial numbers, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone begins with the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

The "Show the correct numbers of your opponent" option (in game options) determines visibility. Enabled, each correctly placed number is visible to all players, earning you points. You can't place a number already used by another player. Disabled, only your own grid is visible, allowing multiple players to earn points for the same number.

Time-Outs:

Incorrect numbers result in a time-out (configurable, default 30 seconds), preventing further actions while others continue.

Points:

Correct numbers earn points, varying based on difficulty level (higher level = more points). Incorrect numbers deduct half the earned points.

Winning:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. If "Show the correct numbers of your opponent" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves it; however, this doesn't grant extra points, so others can still win with fewer mistakes.

Team vs. Individual Play:

Team mode lets two teams compete. Join a team (1 or 2), and once at least two players join a team, they form that team. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/filled colors are shared among teammates, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle provides tools:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to empty squares. Selecting a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of any square.
