Starting today, Dell is offering an unbeatable deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5080 GPU for just $2,399.99, including shipping. This is one of the most competitive prices available for an RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt system, especially given the price hikes across other brands since the RTX 50 series launch in January. At Dell, the only other prebuilt option with an RTX 5080 exceeds $4,000. Sourcing a standalone RTX 5080 GPU for a DIY build could cost you as much as this complete system, if not more.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC boasts an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, paired with the GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, part of the Meteor Lake generation, achieves a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, featuring 20 cores and a 30MB cache. The system is cooled efficiently by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler and powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.
The RTX 5080 is one of the three newly released Blackwell graphics cards, which are notoriously hard to find. In our review of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE, Jackie noted, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be the upgrade you're looking for – it offers only a marginal performance increase over the RTX 4080. However, the additional frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do enhance the gaming experience in supported titles. For gamers with older GPUs seeking a significant boost, the RTX 5080 delivers, especially if you're keen on leveraging Nvidia's AI enhancements."

Alienware has introduced its new-for-2025 Area-51 system, now available for pre-order at Dell. Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis maintains a design similar to the 2024 R16 model but includes minor aesthetic and cooling enhancements along with updated components. The I/O panel has been repositioned to the top of the case, and the tempered glass window now covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side vents. Air intakes are now situated at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that helps reduce internal dust accumulation. The internal components have been thoroughly refreshed, featuring a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.
The initial batch of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards, including the high-end RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, sold out within the first hour of preorders. The RTX 5070 Ti followed in February, facing similar rapid sell-outs. Prebuilt gaming PCs with these new GPUs are also in short supply, either out of stock, marked up in price, or facing extended delivery delays.
