ARK: Survival Ascended Unveils 2-Year Roadmap

Studio Wildcard has released an updated content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, detailing nearly two years of planned updates for the game. Originally launched in early access in late November 2023, ARK: Survival Ascended has been receiving regular content updates from the developer.

On January 11, Studio Wildcard, based in Redmond, Washington, shared a comprehensive roadmap that extends until late 2026. The first significant update on the agenda is a technical patch scheduled for March 2025, which will upgrade ARK: Survival Ascended to Unreal Engine 5.5. This upgrade is expected to bring substantial performance improvements and reintroduce support for Nvidia's frame generation, which was previously removed due to engine issues in the second half of 2024.

ARK: Survival Ascended Content Roadmap for 2025–2026

The UE5 update will also continue Studio Wildcard's efforts to restructure the game's data, allowing players to download individual ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs. This approach aims to reduce the game's install size by enabling selective map downloads. In April 2025, new content will include a Fantastic Tame and a free Bison creature.

A new premium map is scheduled for June 2025, with details to be revealed possibly in early spring. August 2025 will see the addition of another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature.

In 2026, Studio Wildcard will focus on remastering the Genesis expansions from ARK: Survival Evolved. Genesis: Part 1 will be released in April 2026, followed by Part 2 in August 2026. Both parts will coincide with the release of Bob's True Tales, a previously announced content addition to the season pass. The remastered Fjordur map is set to launch as a free update in December 2026. Additionally, three more Fantastic Tames are planned throughout 2026.

While the roadmap provides a broad overview of the upcoming content, Studio Wildcard may have smaller surprises in store for ARK: Survival Ascended in the coming years.
